Progressing Naturally is at the forefront of our vision for growing Colleton County. Situated next to the fastest growing counties in the State, Colleton County is positioned for providing economic incentives for the 21st Century within the framework of a rich and diverse natural setting.
Our leadership is committed to strengthening its pro-business environment by offering competitive tax incentives, workforce training opportunities, and infrastructure ready sites.
Colleton County has made significant investments to expand its reach of educational choices for county residents. In recent years, over $90 million has been invested for improvements to our public schools, including a new high school. In 2011, the Career Skills Center opened as a job training facility emphasizing course offerings relevant to local industry.
Play Ball! Colleton County hits a homerun with the construction of a new multi-field sporting complex. The new recreational center will be able to host expanded youth and adult programs as well as regional tournaments. For those who prefer more leisurely outings, other recreational opportunities include kayaking on the Edisto River or wildlife viewing in the ACE Basin.
Today’s landscape continues to reflect much of its history, with many of its old working plantations and rice fields, post-antebellum architecture and Native American archeological sites. Our history and heritage are celebrated throughout the County's cultural community including the County Museum, and a varied mix of art galleries, monuments, historic districts, and local heritage festivals.
