A. All ordinances, resolutions or other acts of Colleton County council establishing rural fire districts and the funding mechanism for these districts are repealed as of the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter. Specifically, these districts are as follows:

1. District;

2. Canadys;

3. Colleton Rural;

4. Cottageville;

5. Jacksonboro;

6. Maple Cane;

7. Neyles;

8. Ruffin;

9. Smoaks;

10. Unincorporated Edisto Island.

B. By authority of the council, the new district is established as the successor in title and interest of the fire protection districts in respect of every right, entitlement and obligation of the fire protection districts, and all such rights, entitlement and obligations of the fire protection districts shall continue in the new district with no break in continuity.
