Pursuant to a public hearing held on the June 15, 1993 and by virtue of the powers vested in the county council by Sections 4-9-30(5) and 4-9-130 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina, as amended, there is created and established a special taxing district within the county to be known as the Colleton County fire protection and rescue service district (the "new district") which shall include and be comprised of the entire unincorporated area of the county as well as the municipality of Cottageville.
