A. There are established seven at-large voting members appointed by Colleton County council. Each shall be appointed for four-year staggered terms; each member shall not serve more than two consecutive terms, provided however, that four appointments shall serve the four-year terms and three the two-year term names of each which shall be drawn by lot. Any vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired term by the Colleton County council. All members shall serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred. The staff of the arts commission shall be standing, nonvoting members. The chairperson of the county council’s education, recreation, health and welfare and social service standing committee or his/her designee shall also be a standing, nonvoting member.

B. The Arts Commission shall support and assist the activities of the following operations:

1. Aphrodite Fine Arts Club;

2. Colleton County Arts Council;

3. Colleton County Mass Choir;

4. Colleton County Historical and Preservation Society;

5. Colleton Museum;

6. Council of Gardens Clubs;

7. Friends of Hampton St. Auditorium;

8. Geological Society;

9. Rice Festival;

10. S.C. Artisans Center;

11. Edsito Beach Arts Council.

C. Other acts related organizations may also be included at a future date as the desire and need arises. (Ord. 93-O-10 § 1, 1993)
