2.60.010 Guidelines for sale of computerized information to general public.

A. The request must be in writing to the Colleton County assessor, must state the specific intended use of the information, and must refer to the Freedom of Information Act. The use of the information shall not be inconsistent with federal, state and local laws.
B. Payment for the information lists must be paid by check or money order made payable to Colleton County. There is no provision for refunds.
C. The information available has been compiled and prepared from recorded deeds, plats and other public records. The public primary information sources as well as the property owners should be consulted for verification. Colleton County will not assume any legal responsibility for the accuracy or use of the information provided.
D. Colleton County reserves the right to prioritize any request in a manner that does not disrupt or interfere with our primary functions.
E. Price structure:
1. Five cents ($.05) per record with a minimum charge of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00).
2. Information furnished in the following formats only:
a. Paper printouts at five cents ($.05) per record plus paper cost.
b. 9-track 1600 BPI, PE at five cents ($.05) per record plus cost of tape.
3. In the event a request is made that existing programs cannot provide desired information, the purchaser must bear the cost of new programs or modifications. There will be a minimum charge of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for this programming and/or modification, which must be paid in advance.
4. Printed CRT screens: twenty-five cents ($.25) each page.
5. Estimate of costs will be conveyed to customer prior to commencement of work.
F. Requests for large amounts of copies should be given in a timely manner. There is no provision for volume discounts. Prices are subject to change. (Ord. 90-O-31, 1990)
