2.60.020 Storage fees for personal property seized by the sheriff.

A. Any and all items of personal property seized by the sheriff of Colleton County pursuant to the statutes authorizing claim and delivery, attachment or any other similar procedures at law or equity or by order of any court of law or equity shall be subject to a storage fee of five dollars ($5.00) per day or part thereof and that this storage fee shall be payable directly to the sheriff of Colleton County to be paid into the general fund of the county.
B. All storage fees are to be paid no later than monthly and in such a manner as prescribed by the sheriff.
C. All storage fees due and owing shall constitute a lien against the personal property and may be perfected by the sheriff by the filing of a notice of intent to perfect lien which shall be recorded, without fee, by the clerk of court in the same manner as are financing statements.
D. A perfected lien for storage fees may be foreclosed by the sheriff upon proper suit instituted in the magistrate’s court or in the court of common pleas and that any sale resulting from such an action shall be accomplished pursuant to the statutes regarding sheriff’s sales in general.
