3.08.260 Types and forms of contracts.

A. Types of Contracts. Subject to the limitations of this section, any type of contract which will promote the best interests of the county may be used and is subject to review and approval by the chief procurement officer, finance director and/or county administrator.
B. Contract Forms. The county administrator, chief procurement officer and/or county finance director shall promulgate by regulation the form of the contracts to be used in connection with county purchasing and construction. No contractor shall begin work without signing the worker’s compensation insurance statement/waiver agreement and the signing of this agreement shall be coordinated with the chief purchasing officer of the county. A county department/division/unit may not enter into a contract or agreement or authorize the start of work with the county by a contractor without the prior written approval by the county administrator. In accordance with the Colleton County budget ordinance, the county administrator is the only employee of the county authorized to sign contracts obligating county funds unless otherwise designated in writing by the county administrator.
