A. Within eighteen (18) months of the enactment of the ordinance codified in this chapter or within twelve (12) months of the date of employment, the animal care and control director shall attend training as provided through the South Carolina Police Academy and be commissioned as an enforcement officer by the county council upon completion.

B. All employees of animal care and control shall attend such other classes and seminars and attain such certifications as budget and staffing allow in order to enhance services to Colleton County in the area of animal care and control.

C. Any other employee of the animal and environmental control department who attends training as provided through the South Carolina Police Academy and is commissioned as an enforcement officer by the county council upon completion shall receive a one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) increase in annual salary.
