Chapter 11.16 SPECIFICATIONS FOR ACCEPTING EXISTING ROADS INTO COUNTY ROAD SYSTEM
11.16.010 Specifications enumerated.
A. The following specifications must be met before an
existing road, not in a developing subdivision, and proposed for public
dedication by private individuals, can be accepted into the county road
system:
1. Requests must be addressed to the county administrator in
writing and include a signed petition from the landowners agreeing to give the
minimum right-of-way required for road and drainage easements.
2. If available, a plat, showing all property lines and
owners on the road, must be recorded in the office of the clerk of court, and
copy must be filed in the county administrator’s office.
3. All property owners must grant a minimum dedicated
right-of-way of fifty (50) feet for each road.
4. If an existing road not in the county system already has a
dedicated right-of-way of less than fifty (50) feet, all property owners must
grant the additional right-of-way needed to meet the minimum fifty (50) feet
required.
5. All drainage systems (crossline pipes, roadway ditches,
sideline pipe for access to property, and outfall ditches) necessary to maintain
the road must be established. All crossline and sideline pipe must meet state
specifications.
6. A minimum right-of-way of thirty (30) feet will be
required for all outfall ditches to enable county equipment to clean and
maintain existing outfall ditches or to construct new outfall ditches if needed
after a road has been brought into the county system.
7. Roadbed to be twenty-eight (28) feet wide from shoulder
break to shoulder break having a two and one-half inch crown in roadway for
drainage to roadway ditches.
8. All roadway ditches and outfall ditches to have a minimum
of one-tenth percent grade for drainage. (Ord. 96-O-1 (part), 1996)
