Title 12 PUBLIC SERVICES
Chapter 12.08 SOLID WASTE DIVISION
12.08.050 Landfill and transfer station fees.
A. The Colleton County council establishes fees on an annual
basis for the Colleton County solid waste division with the approval of the
annual budget ordinance. Tipping fees for disposal of commercial waste and
residential waste exceeding the five hundred-pound per month limit shall be
calculated based on the county’s cost in tipping fees, haulage, and yearly
tonnage rates, as well as depreciation of the transfer station, so that the
county is provided with a method of recouping its costs for the disposal of
commercial waste deposited at the transfer station. Advance notice of a change
in the annual fees shall be provided to commercial customers.
B. Rates for disposal of truck and automotive tires shall be
amended as required by county council by resolution or ordinance. Such fees
shall be calculated based on the county’s costs to dispose of this
material. Advance notice of at least fifteen (15) days shall be provided for any
fee increase. The disposal fee for waste automotive and truck tires shall be one
hundred eight dollars ($108.00) per ton. (Ord. 05-O-05 §§ 1, 2,
2005; Ord. 02-O-26 § 5, 2003)
