13.20.060 Violation--Penalty.

A. Any person who fails to appear before the court as required by a uniform ordinance summons, without first having posted such bond as may be required or without having been granted a continuance by the court, is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, may be fined not more than two hundred dollars ($200.00) or imprisoned for not more than thirty (30) days. Any law enforcement agency processing an arrest made pursuant to this subsection must furnish such information to the State Law Enforcement Division as required by S.C. Code 23-3-10, et seq.
B. Violations of the provisions of the construction codes as adopted by Colleton County shall be subject to penalties as provided in Section 13.04.010.
C. Before being charged with a second violation, an individual must be given seven calendar days to remedy the violation if, in the opinion of the inspector or official, it does not place the public in imminent danger or create an emergency situation. Each day a violation continues is a separate offense if the inspector or official determines the situation places the public in imminent danger or creates an emergency situation. In a situation which does not place the public in imminent danger or create an emergency situation, if, in the opinion of the inspector or official, no substantial progress is made toward correcting the violation by the end of the seventh calendar day, each day the violation continues thereafter is considered a separate offense.
