14.12.070 Home occupations.

Home occupations, as defined by this title, shall meet the following requirements, where conditionally permitted by Table 1.
A. In the RS District.
1. The home occupation shall be carried on wholly within the dwelling.
2. The floor area dedicated to such use shall not exceed twenty-five percent (25%) of the floor area of the principal building, up to four hundred (400) square feet.
3. No signs shall be allowed.
4. No merchandise or articles shall be displayed so as to be visible from outside the building.
5. No person not residing in the residence shall be employed in the home occupation.
6. There is no alteration whatsoever of the residential character of the building(s) and/or premises.
7. The occupation shall not involve the retail sale of merchandise manufactured off the premises.
B. In the RC and RD Districts. A home occupation may be carried on within a dwelling or an accessory building to a dwelling; provided: (1) there is no external storage of goods or materials, including disabled automobiles and trucks, visible from the road; and (2) no more than one person not a resident of the dwelling is employed on site. Home occupations permitted in the RC and RD districts include, but are not limited to carpentry, metal working, electrical, welding, plumbing, and repair shops, professional and technical services, insurance and real estate services and similar service uses.
