Solid Waste and Recycling

Colleton County Government is accepting applications for the position of Solid Waste Director.  The successful candidate will under limited supervision, plan, direct and coordinate all Solid Waste Department functions in the county.  Responsibilities include supervising personnel and managing: 

  1. Transfer stations
  2. Recycling
  3. Manned and unmanned sites. 

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in planning or public administration and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in solid waste management or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Knowledge and experience using a computer is a must.  A valid CDL “A” license, with a current medical certificate (DOT) and Solid Waste landfill license required.  Pre-employment drug screen and a satisfactory background check are also required.

SALARY RANGE:        $56,272 to $67,892 (DOQ)
