Systems Administrator

Colleton County Government is accepting applications/resumes for a Systems Administrator.  The successful candidate will under limited supervision be responsible for advanced level IT systems (including but not limited to server, network and PC) support functions.  Will have comprehensive decision-making authority and independence as necessary to sustain the services provided by the IT department.  Will serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex technical issues.  Requires thorough knowledge of IT systems’ diagnostics and repair techniques, competency with network administration tools, and capable of supporting all new and existing IT systems in all County departments. Reports to the Technology Director.

Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, network administration, or related field to include instruction in computer software, hardware, and operating systems is required.  Knowledge and experience in configuring and maintaining network devices (Cisco) (i.e. switches, firewalls, routers etc.).  Must have three to four years training or experience in computer software, hardware, and operating systems, computer diagnostic and repair techniques, network and telephone wiring techniques, and training and development techniques or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Supervisory experience preferred.  Pre-employment drug screen and a satisfactory background check also required.

HOURLY RATE OF PAY:  $65,042 to $78,374 (DOQ)
