SOUTH CAROLINA ARTISANS CENTER
The primary mission of the S C Artisans Center is to showcase and market the hand-crafted work of our state's leading artists, while ensuring that art inspired by tradition is protected and nurtured. The Center opened in 1994 and was desined the "Official Folk Art and Craft Center of South Carolina" in May 2000.
The SC Artisans Center is home to 300+ South Carolina Artisans.

The museum, located in historic downtown Walterboro at 506 E. Washington St., offers a natural history exhibit of the ACE Basin as well as historical exhibits of artifacts and photographs depicting the rich history of Colleton County. Colleton County's rice culture history is prominently displayed, along with church histories, Colleton County soldiers through various wars, the silhouette art of Carew Rice , a Colleton County native, and much more. The museum also offers changing art and local history exhibits. Offering programming outreach to schools and the community at large is an important focus for the museum. The museum encourages on-site class and group visitations. Please call ahead to make arrangements.
