Winter Weather Warning Issued for Colleton County. Click HERE for More Information.

Colleton County is under a Winter Weather Warning and an Extreme Cold. Local and State officials have been closely monitoring the forecast for the last several days and are preparing to respond to any impacts. In addition to snowfall amounts up to 4", we will experience dangerously low wind chills Saturday Night continuing through Monday morning. Officials are encouraging all Colleton County residents to, Stay Home, Stay Safe. Roads will likely be severely impacted and travel is not advised. Remember, it's not just your life you are putting in danger, it's the lives of all of our Colleton County First Responders. Out of an abundance of caution, Colleton County Solid Waste Convenience Sites and Landfill will close Saturday at 11 am and will remain closed through the remainder of the weekend. Colleton County Animal Shelter will also be closed to the public all day Saturday and Sunday. Colleton County Government Offices will resume operations on Monday, February 2, 2026 at noon. The delayed opening will be reviewed and adjusted as needed, based on impacts.  The regularly scheduled Colleton County Council Meeting for Monday, February 2 has been postponed until Monday, February 9. 

A Warming Shelter will be opened at St. Judes Church, 907 Wichman Street, from 6 PM - 8 AM from 1/30 - 2/3. Transportation is not provided and pets are not permitted.
