WHAT IS A PRIMARY?

Primaries are elections that political parties use to select their candidates for a general election. A primary is necessary when multiple candidates from the same political party file for the same office. If you do not see your candidate on the primary ballot it is because that candidate did not have anyone within their party to run against them.  He or she will be on the General Election Ballot held on November 5, 2024.

Colleton County has established one early voting center at their main office located at 2471 Jefferies Hwy in Walterboro.
