Colleton County is accepting applications/resumes for the Deputy Assessor position in the Assessor’s Office.  The successful candidate will under limited supervision assist the Assessor in the administration of the department.  Will plan and supervise the work of staff engaged in mapping, appraisal, and assessment of property for tax purposes; coordinate assigned activities with other County departments, divisions, and outside agencies.  Will provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the County Assessor.

Requires a high school diploma with completion of IAAO (International Association of Assessing Officers) courses and training and six (6) to nine (9) years of experience in mass appraisal real estate or a related field including some supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the required abilities, skills, and knowledge.  Must possess a SC Real Estate Appraiser license or certification, a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.  Submit a 3-year driving record.  Pre-employment drug screen and a satisfactory background check also required.

SALARY RANGE:  $42,325 to $51,015 (DOQ)
