Colleton County Government is accepting applications/resumes for the position of Director of Golf Course Operations. The position is responsible for the overall management, operation, and financial performance of Dogwood Hills Golf Course. This position oversees all daily golf course operations, including the golf shop, tournaments, leagues, facility rentals, customer service, budgeting, purchasing, marketing, and staff supervision. The Director works closely with the Golf Course Grounds Superintendent (or Grounds Crew Supervisor) to ensure the course and facilities are maintained to County standards while providing an exceptional experience for golfers, tournament participants, and visitors.
The Director is expected to operate the golf course in a fiscally responsible manner while increasing participation, promoting community engagement, and maximizing revenue opportunities. Reports directly to the Director of Parks & Recreation and is responsible for the successful operation, financial performance, and customer experience of Dogwood Hills Golf Course.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Parks and Recreation, Golf Management, Sports Management, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in golf course operations, hospitality management, recreation management, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
