Do dogs and cats have to have the rabies vaccination?

Both South Carolina State Law and the local County Animal Control Ordinance require that all dogs and cats be currently vaccinated for rabies by a licensed veterinarian yearly from the age of three (3) months on. The rabies vaccination tag must be attached to a collar or harness worn by the animal for which the tag was issued, except when the animal is confined in an enclosed area.
