Colleton County is accepting applications for the position of General Laborer for the Solid Waste Department. The successful candidate will under regular supervision drive a pick-up truck with trailer to collect recyclables from collection sites throughout the county, bail cardboard, palletize e-waste, and maintain the grounds at the landfill and sites. Will perform related duties required, such as but not limited to; cutting grass at the landfill and sites.
A High School Diploma or equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities for a general laborer. Valid driver’s license also required, please submit a 3-year driving record along with the application. Must have the capability to perform the physical requirements of the job, and the ability to understand and effectively communicate (verbally/written). Pre-employment drug screen and a satisfactory background check also required.
